Parassinikadavu Muthappan temple is a famous Hindu Temple devoted to lord Muthappan and Thiruvappan, Representing lord Shiva and Vishnu.
Proper name of the temple is Parassini Madappura. Parassinikadavu Muthappan Temple is located in the bank of Valapattanam river, Kannur District about 18kms from kannur.
Sree Muthappan and Thiruvappan are  mostly worshiped by people of North malabar (Vadakara, Kannur , Kasargod and Coorg region of Karnataka).

Main worship of Temple is Sree Muthappan, a Theyyam form which is performed daily morning between 5 a.m and 8 a.m. and evening between 6.30 and 8.30 p.m. The main offering to Muthappan theyyam is Toddy (Kallu) and Dry Fish (Unakku). Pujari of the temple is called Madayan and he is not from a brahmin family like other Hindu Temples. Muthappan Theyyam is usually performed by Vannan community of Kerala people from all religion visits Parassinikadavu, its Opened from morning 5:00 to night 9:00.
Dog is treated as Muthappans animal and considered as sacred. We can find many dogs in the temple premises.
Prasadam offered at parassinikadavu 

Annual Festival Puthari Thiruvappana Maholsavam is celebrated during first of December.(Vrishchikam 16). festival is known as the harvest festival.

Pappinisseri Snake park
 Pappninssery Snake park is just 4 kms away from Parassinikadavu Temple, It is one of the only Snake park in kerala which has many rare species of snakes which are beign preserved here. Pappinisseri snake park is a subsidiary of Pappinisseri Visha Chikitsa Kendra (Pappinisseri Poison Treatment Centre). Pappinisseri Snake park has snakes like king cobra, cobra, and also have rare animals, reptiles and birds like the Crocodiles, peacock etc etc..

Vismaya Infotainment centre
 Vismaya infotainment centre is just 2kms from Parassinikadavu Temple and one of the biggest amusement part in malabar. The park is completely operated by the rain water collected by the reservoir spread over two acres of land with a capacity of 50 million litres of water.
